Last night I had the craziest night I have had in a long time.  I woke up remembering having three very bizarre, totally unconnected dreams.  Of course now, an hour later, I only remember parts of one of them.

In the last dream we were living in a place that was a combination of our condo and a house that seemed familiar.  I had forgotten about an extra 2,000 square feet of living space at the back end of our condo.  And I had questions, like "How do they mow the lawn in the enclosed courtyard in the middle of our condo?" and "Why did we add a bedroom in the basement if we had this spacious guest suite and living space in the back?"  When I woke up I felt like looking for the forgotten corridor, until reality finally kicked in.

My head is still spinning!  However, amazingly I feel refreshed and ready to face the reality of this day.  But, in the back of my mind I am asking the question, "What is really real?"

Are those bizarre dreams reality?  In some ways "yes" - for I really did dream them.  But then again, "no" because that back end of our condo is nowhere to be found.

Have you ever considered that, perhaps, what's really real is found in the Holy Scriptures - the Bible?  How about this for a really real statement:  "In (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth." (Ephesians 1.7-10)

Has God really forgiven us all our trespasses - even those in our future?  Does he really have a plan in motion "to unite all things in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth?"  Does God, in all wisdom and insight, really lavish his grace upon us and make known to us the mystery of his will?  The answers are "yes", "yes", and "yes".   This IS what's really real!

Why is it then, that much of the time, we find our crazy dreams to be more believable than God's written promises?  How would our days be different if each of us lived every moment in the reality that we are fully forgiven?  Would our life be changed if in the forefront of our brains we were always aware that God is at work in us, uniting all things in Christ?  Would people like us if they knew we live lavishly in his grace?

I think I'll just let you think about these things.  I want to make a second search for that missing corridor ...
