A bunch of short stories, all from the same week, recorded for the longest day of the year. Illustrations that God is at work in our midst every day. The names are withheld so each character is free to handle their story as they wish. All the way through I am thinking of how "Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, 'If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'" (John 8.31-32). My favorite story is the seventh one.

The day started with a stomach ache, which led to a trip to the emergency room. After a night in the hospital there was a stress test, a stint to open an artery that had been 100% blocked, and a couple that could not stop talking about how good their God was. Two days later they were watching their high school child compete. God at work - again.

Though I had not been around in at least 5 years and I brought with me someone much younger that they had never met before, the welcome was more than warm. Everyone participated in the conversation. Everything was very exciting as connection after connection was made. God @ work - again.

100 years is a long time to live on this earth. That’s how old she is today. I saw her yesterday. Life on this earth has not always been overly kind to her, but I have never seen either her positive attitude or her faith in Jesus wane. God @W - again.

A friend of his sister reported the story to me. He has gone through too many very rough times. Most were of his own making. But now he seemed to be closer to Jesus than anyone in the family ever had been. He was even leading the family in prayer! G@W - again.

There are currently 134 names associated with this story. That is the number of people who have officially signed up to read the New Testament in our New T: 1-K initiative. There are another 40 or so New Testaments that are ‘out there.’ The only no’s I have heard have been from people who are already in a different daily Bible reading discipline. Everyone else has said to me - especially when they learn of the many options available - “This is something that interests me.” G@W - again and again and again.

This story has gone on way too long for anyone’s liking or understanding. It started as November turned into December, and continues today. But the victim has remained strong and firm ... doing right thing after right thing, filling his time with multiple activities that are healthy and helpful. And his name is counted among the +130. G@W - again.

In Luke 10, as Jesus sends out the 72, he says, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest" (Luke 10.2). The seventh story is yet to be written. Rather than being the story of Jesus sending out 72 some 2,000 years ago, it is the story of Jesus sending out the 628 who are receiving this email ... and the many others who read it on Face Book and elsewhere. (Did I mention that I am praying to the Lord of the harvest for you?) It is the story of you joining the New T: 1-K initiative ... and then inviting others to join in with you. It is the story of you asking perfect strangers, “How can I pray for you?” or blessing them in some other way. It is the story that you will share with me of how you have seen G@W - AGAIN.

I think I can hear our Heavenly Father singing, “Go my children, with my blessing, never alone. Go my children ... for I have chosen you to tell the world of my love.“. G@W - again ... in and through YOU! I pray that you can hear him singing to you, too.
